Christianity: Beliefs about God

Christians are monotheists (they only believe in one God). God is seen as ‘holy’ meaning unique, separate and distinct. The God that is found in the Jewish Scriptures (the Torah) and the God of the Christian Old Testament is the same God.

Christian beliefs about God are expressed through the concept of the Trinity. The Trinity depicts the three ways that God comes into being through God the Father, God the Son and the Holy Spirit.
