1.1 Rock Types

Igneous: Formed from MAGMA. Very hard rock.

Intrusive- when magma cools slowly underground forming large crystals. Eg; Granite.

Extrusive- If the magma comes above ground, becomes lava and cools quickly, forming tiny crystals. Eg: Basalt.

Sedimentary: Formed when ERODED SEDIMENTS from dead plants, animals and rock particles build up in layers and become compressed. Eg...
