JUNIOR CERTIFICATE EXAMINATION 2005 MATHEMATICS – HIGHER LEVEL – PAPER 1 GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR EXAMINERS
- Penalties of three types are applied to candidates’ work as follows:
- Blunders - mathematical errors/omissions (-3)
- Slips- numerical errors (-1)
- Misreadings (provided task is not oversimplified) (-1).
Frequently occurring errors to which these penalties must be applied are listed in the scheme. They are labelled: B1, B2, B3,…, S1, S2,…, M1, M2,…etc. These lists are not exhaustive.
