What's done is done and there's no point in worrying about it.
Bring someone with you
Your friends and family will be there with you no matter what, so bring someone with you. A parent/guardian. A sibling. A friend.
Bring someone with you that can share in your joy and ease your anxiety. Having someone there with you to talk to will make the whole process easier.
Make sure your phone is charged and full of credit
There'll be a lot of people eagerly awaiting news of your results, so don't keep them waiting. Call them, text them, send a Snap, go on Facebook, Tweet, even take a photo of your results for your Instagram account. Make sure your phone has a full battery and has credit.
Got exactly what you wanted?
Excellent! Congratulations. Celebrate. Be happy. Relax. Take some time to figure out what you want to do next and be safe in the knowledge that you have so much open to you.
Didn't get what you wanted?
That's OK. Don't freak out or panic, don't fret; there are still so many options available to you. Speak to someone about your results. Don't get into a "highest points" competition with friends or classmates.
Take some time and figure out what you want to do next. We'll discuss the options available to you.
Want to appeal your results?
This option is available to you; do it if you feel it’s necessary. The first step is to request your papers from the State Exams Commission – which you should be able to do via your school.
Please note that only the scripts from the written and aural examinations are returned for viewing and that while viewing your marked scripts is free of charge, there is a fee to appeal your results (and this is €40 per subject).
For more information, visit examinations.ie and select Candidates from the drop-down menu to your left.
Explore your options
To paraphrase Shakespeare, the world is your oyster, so take some time to figure out what you want to do. Leaving Cert results don’t have to affect your whole life and there is so much you can do next.
Maybe you want to go to college straight away, maybe you want to work, maybe you want to take a year off, maybe you want to repeat the Leaving Certificate. Whatever it is, do whatever makes you happiest. Talk to people about what you would like to do and explore your options.
Leaving Cert Helpline

Maybe you're celebrating. Maybe you're commiserating. Whatever it is, remember to take it easy. Maybe having a quiet night in with friends and family might be good, going to the cinema; there are so many other alternatives to what’s considered by many as a compulsory night out.
If you do decide to go out, take it easy. This is a night for celebrating and for creating good memories.
